Site Elevations

An Elevation shows the exterior of the building from one side. The direction the side faces determines the name. Therefore a North Elevation shows how the structure will look from the North side. Some projects require all elevations, some need only two sides.

Elevations typically contain:

  • Dimensions of walls and the roof pitch with structural information.
  • Dimensions and descriptions of all windows and doors.
  • Location and size of exterior vents, electric and gas service panels, chimneys, ac units, decks, guardrails, crawl space access etc.
  • Composition of exterior siding, sheathing and roofing.
  • Concrete driveways and sidewalks.
  • Type and location of trees and shrubs if desired.
  • For Solar Electric, PV panels, DC disconnects, Inverters, etc
