Detail Drawings

Detail drawings are "closeups" of complicated, unusual or important areas of the structure. Often they are labeled with a letter or number relating to another drawing showing their location(s). They typically contain:
  • How various parts are put together relative to each other.
  • Special components required for stability, strength or safety.
  • Directions from an engineer or architect.
  • Description of an unusual or uncommon practice.
